I pulled three prints. The first isn’t clean up print. The second was the first main print and the last is my favorite.

Taking a page out of @createdandmadestudios’ pla Taking a page out of @createdandmadestudios’ playbook — using foil leading to make crackle prints. I’m in love with this technique! Day 9/100 #100daysofgelliprinting
Day 7/100 — #100daysofgelliprinting Today I trie Day 7/100 — #100daysofgelliprinting Today I tried the cornstarch technique again — this time with actual cornstarch! It worked much better! These all use the same colors , just in different orders, except that the first one started with Payne’s Grey, which I decided made the print too dark. Bonus points if you find the cat paw print! The last is the “clean up pull.” I think it looks pretty cool too!

I tried a technique using g of starch as a resist — except that I didn’t have any cornstarch so I tried it with baking soda. It mostly just made a big mess! Then I played with a new texture tool and a new stencil. Fun! #100daysofgelliprinting
Day 5/100 of getting familiar with my gelli plate. Day 5/100 of getting familiar with my gelli plate. Re-acquainted, really. Today I played with some off-brand alcohol inks. The technique was promising, but I wasn’t impressed with the inks themselves. I see a trip to Michael’s and some Ranger inks in my future!
Day 5/100: I tried a technique I saw in an Elizabe Day 5/100: I tried a technique I saw in an Elizabeth St Hilaire video, but I didn’t really have the right kind of stencil. Even so, I love the colors! #100daysofgelliprinting

I know I'm not very active on Instagram, but I hop I know I'm not very active on Instagram, but I hope to change that in 2024. I'm actually here several times a week; I just don't post much.

But today, I wanted to let my friends know that I'm the Featured Maker at Mixed Media Moments. It feels like kind of a vanity thing, since I also curate the site, but the truth is my artist asked to be moved to another date, so I jumped in and filled the gap. I've had people ask about my journey, so it seemed fitting.

I'd like to invite you to stop by and check out the site. Link is in the bio.

Cover for them. Be there for them, although you don’t have to be there physically all the time. Tag your best friends ❤️ and let them know you’re there for them all the time

Today is Best Friends Day.

@‌divinemissmcc – you’re the best best friend in the world! I’m blessed to have you in my life. We’ve had a lot of crazy times…here’s to many more!!

Love you to the moon and back, my beautiful friend.
Day 01/100 of #the100DayProject is complete!
.
I’ve been looking forward to today for weeks now, and wouldn’t you know, I’m having a fibro flair up 😬 The last thing I wanted to do today was paint. Actually, the “last thing I wanted to do” was flake on the first day of the challenge!
.
My project is to work with the Mixed Media Prompt cards I recently purchased from @aworkofheart. I pulled five at random, and let them guide my play.

I’ve been doing the #loveyourimperfectletters dr I’ve been doing the #loveyourimperfectletters drills for @willa.wanders lettering class. I’m enjoying the meditative quality of the process. I haven’t decided if I like the pen I’ve been using. I love the way it feels as it writes, but it smears and the ink flow is inconsistent.
I started a hand lettering (not calligraphy) cours I started a hand lettering (not calligraphy) course today. Here are my first day’s drills. I’m not sure if I’ll post them every day, but I will post some progress shots occasionally. #loveyourimperfectletters
